Bring Hope to Haiti

Posted on February 2, 2010 by

With the  devastation in the news about Haiti, it was only natural for us to choose Hope for Haiti Now for February’s charity of the month. Why Hope for Haiti Now?

Years ago Kevin went on a mission trip to Haiti with his band Warriors. They spent a week and a half in Port-au-Prince and two weeks in Okai, and though I didn’t know him then, I do know he was forever effected by this experience. To know Kevin is to know a soul thankful daily for his blessings – thankful for having been born in a country that is safe and free with countless possibilities to pursue your dreams. He is also convicted to do what he can to offer those opportunities in many ways for those who haven’t had as many opportunities as he has been blessed with. And our family is grateful to live with his optimist encouragement.

Anything else influence our choice? Well, on a much lighter note, Kevin is a fabulous musician and Hope for Haiti Now featured an concert of extraordinary musicians sharing their gifts and talent for this cause. And if you know Terri, well, Keith Urban was a part of that collaboration!

If you can’t stay with us this month, we encourage you to purchase the album? Click on their logo in this post. All proceeds from album and video sales will go to the Clinton Bush Haiti Fund, Oxfam America, Partners in Health, Red Cross, UNICEF, United Nations World Food Programme and Yele Haiti Foundation. As will our donation to this Charity of the Month.
